Ignite Imaginations closed on 31st March 2025, after over 20 years of providing creative activities in partnership with communities across Sheffield.
Ignite’s aim was for every person in Sheffield to have equitable access and opportunity to participate in visual arts experiences, which builds confidence, pride and reduces social isolation. Sadly, over recent years it became increasingly difficult for us, as an organisation, to fund the work we wanted to deliver and the decision was taken to wind down the organisation.

Since 2004, Ignite Imaginations (which began its journey as Art in the Park) provided paid work for over 50 artists in Sheffield, worked with thousands of individuals and raised over £1.5 million for the arts in the city.
Ignite Imaginations extends its heartfelt thanks to its supporters, partners, artists, volunteers, funders and community members who have allowed the charity to deliver fantastic projects and events in the heart of communities for so long. The legacy of this work will live on in the lives touched, friendships formed, and artistic talents inspired over the years.
